Vedanta Hypocrisy!
The crows are sure that you would have definitely seen the new 'Vedanta' ad on your tv sets, which talks about this village girl 'Binno' (on the right) and how the company is bringing happiness in the lives of the villagers.
On the left is a picture from the site, where Vedanta is presently working. Thanks to this campaign on facebook, few people have an idea what these companies are doing in out villages.
There are more companies like Vedanta who are pressurizing/buying the government to occupy such regions in villages to dig out minerals from there. With no government support, the villagers are getting up to fight for their forests, their mountains...their home! (Does it remind you of some Hollywood flick? Some 'Avataar'?)
This is not new. It has been happening for quite sometime. It is just that these companies are so big that they buy the mainstream media and project a very different image of theirs (like the present Vedanta campaign.) The people who are suffering are these poor villagers who have no government, no money and they end up losing their lands. In many cases, it forces them to pick up weapons against the companies and we call them 'Naxalites'!
You don't have to get up and fight. You just need to acknowledge that such things are happening. You just need to be aware and spread awareness about such issues.
The crows have done their job. What are you waiting for?
The crows are sharing 2 videos with you. The first one is the Vedanta TV commercial. The second one is a tribal song, which talks of the issue.
My-crow thinking continues...
